Leonard Emery

Born on a mountain top in Tennessee Greenest state in the land of the free… Oh, wait a minute.
That was some other Indian fighter.

Actually, I was born in Laconia, NH, the second of seven children, and I now live in Waterville Valley, NH, with my daughter, Lea, and my son, Lenny.

I've led a pretty eclectic life. After high school, I went to Vienna, Austria, and studied piano (not very hard.) Then I came home and went to Emerson College in Boston for a while (not very long.). My next stop was at the Navy Music School in Little Creek, VA, and not one Viet Cong came near us the entire time I was there (at least not very close.)

Following the Navy, I ended up skiing in Waterville Valley, and started to play professionally for a few years, before leaving for California to be a studio musician. Instead, I ended up doing special effects in movies such as The Buddy Holly Story, Harper Valley PTA, Up in Smoke with Cheech and Chong, and others. My favorite was The Muppet Movie, where I worked under the guidance of half-man, half-genius Robbie Knott (company name Knott Limited - get it?), and with Kermit, Fozzie, and my dear friend Miss Piggy. After 5 years of smog and traffic jams, I returned to New Hampshire, to the mountains, clean air, and Waterville Valley.
